The activity is part of tourism cooperation among the three localities, targeting the northeastern region of Thailand.

The event drew Vietnamese Consul General in Khon Kaen Huynh Ngoc Son, representatives of the tourism State-management units of Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh, Udon Thani tourism management agencies and about 70 Thai and Vietnamese travel firms.

Outstanding natural landscape and heritage of the three provinces such as the UNESCO-recognised natural heritage of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park of Quang Binh and intangible cultural heritage of Vi Giam folk singing in Nghe An and Ha Tinh were highlighted.

Tourists of Thailand and Vietnam can reach each other’s country by road, air or cruise ships.

Thai representatives said that with diverse natural landscapes and efforts to promote tourism, central provinces of Vietnam have become top destinations for their tourists. Meanwhile, the northeastern region of the Land of Golden Buddhas has welcomed thousands of Vietnamese visitors each year, especially in President Ho Chi Minh’s memorial sites and in Nakhon Phanom and Udon Thani.

At the event, firms also introduced tourism products and discussed measures to develop future links./.
