“Solo travelers in Asia are well looked after – the transport between countries is brilliant, most cities are cosmopolitan and safe (especially for women) and there’s accommodation for all budgets,” said Bigseventravel.

The website described Hanoi as a popular city for many travelers across the world.

“From street food markets to cultural museums and scenic freshwater lakes, Hanoi has something for all tastes. It’s a wonderful base from which to explore the North of Vietnam, including Ha Long Bay and Sa Pa, while also enjoying the comforts of a modern vibrant city.”

The other six places that made the list are Tokyo (Japan), Bali (Indonesia), Singapore, Seoul (the Republic of Korea), Siem Reap (Cambodia) and Chiang Mai (Thailand).

By the end of September 2019, foreign tourist arrivals to Hanoi reached 4.7 million, a year-on-year rise of 10.1%.

In the first nine months of the year, average room occupancy of the hotel bloc was 70.55%, a year-on-year rise of 6.1%. Foreigners staying overnight mainly came from the Republic of Korea, China and Japan./.
