For solid waste management, BSR has classified and collected all types of daily-life waste, ordinary industrial waste, hazardous waste and medical waste, in accordance with regulations. It has two temporary storages for harmful waste with an area of about 300m2 each.

For sewage, the Dung Quat Oil Refinery Plant has a sewage treatment system with a designed capacity of 560m3 per hour with mechanical, chemical-physical and biological treatment processes. With the actual sewage volume, the system just operates at about 50% of its designed capacity.

For emissions management, emissions and noise of the plant meet the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s national technical regulations on Emission of Refining and Petrochemical Industry of Inorganic Substances. In addition, the plant invested in installing auto environmental monitoring equipment.

The company actively updated and obeyed legal regulations on environmental protection. It was awarded environmental prizes by leaders of the Party and Government, Quang Ngai People’s Committee and domestic and foreign organizations and agencies, for good performance in environmental protection.

In the recent three years, BSR received and worked with inspection delegations of the Vietnam Environment Administration, the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Industrial Safety Techniques and Environment Agency, the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group. The results showed BSR fully complied with legal regulations and well carried out environmental protection, helping the company achieve 17.8 million safe working hours by the end of August 2018.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Phuong Thao hailed environmental protection work of BSR. She proposed the company should closely follow policies, circulars, and directions of the Government and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to ensure technical and environmental standards./.
