Quang Ninh greets over 10 million tourists in nine months

The northern province of Quang Ninh received more than 10 million tourists in the Jan-Sep period, in which foreign tourists numbered over 3.6 million, up 19% over a year earlier and fulfilling 72% of the year’s plan.

Total tourism turnover reached over VND17.5 trillion, up 30% over a year earlier and fulfilling 80% of the year’s plan.
In line with the tourism development strategy of becoming the spearhead economic sector, in 2018, Quang Ninh hosts the "National Tourism Year" with more than 50 cultural, sporting and tourism events. Thereby, the locality set a target of welcoming 12 million visitors this year.
Together with many key projects, such as Van Don International Airport, Hai Phong-Ha Long highway and Ha Long-Van Don highway, many tourism projects continue to be studied for planning and investment in Mong Cai, Co To, Quang Yen, Uong Bi and Dong Trieu, in order to contribute to expanding the market and diversifying tourism products./.
