Vietnam railway offers free tickets for some 3,000 foreign reporters

From February 26th to March 31st, Vietnam Railway Corporation will offer free ticket on all trains for foreign reporters covering the second DPRK - US summit in Hanoi.

The move aims to help promote the image of the landscapes and people of Vietnam to international friends and boost domestic tourism development.

All foreign reporters with a press pass issued by the Department of Information and Press of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam can receive this offer. For any train travel during this period, they can directly contact ticket offices at railway stations.  

Since Hanoi was chosen to host the 2nd DPRK-US Summit, there are nearly 3,000 foreign journalists flocked to the city.  

Earlier, Chairman of the Hanoi city People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung asked public transport units to provide free bus tours for domestic and international reporters from February 25th to March 2nd.   

The city also invited culinary artists to serve foreign reporters with many Vietnamese traditional dishes. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc suggested bringing national dishes such as fried spring rolls, pork pies and Pho for the reporters. All meals are free./.
