According to Mr. Kasai, the strong direction of the Government has helped make Vietnam one of the leading countries in the effort to control COVID-19.

He also appreciated the cooperation of the Vietnamese people in the fight against COVID-19, affirming that the people's self-discipline in complying with social rules helps reduce infections of the deadly pandemic.

Vietnam has detected a total of only 268 cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection, no more cases have been reported in the past 5 days, and no deaths have been recorded. These figures are much lower than most Southeast Asian countries and many countries around the world. As many as 216 people with COVID-19 in Vietnam have recovered and 52 are being treated.
