The White House confirmed that Mr. Trump would accept Mr. Kim's invitation to meet. It added a meeting between the two would be held “at a place and time to be determined”.

The historic diplomatic meeting between the powerful leaders would take place, but wouldn't reveal when or where.

RoK’s President Moon Jae-in said a meeting between Mr Trump and Mr Kim would be a "historical milestone" that will put the denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula "really on track".

Earlier, National Security Adviser of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Chung Eui-yong said President Donald Trump had agreed to meet with leader Kim Jong-un.

Kim "expressed his eagerness to meet President Trump as soon as possible. President Trump appreciated the briefing and said he would meet Kim Jong-un by May to achieve permanent denuclearization"./.
