The three medallions are of the same design, but are made of gold, silver and base metal, respectively.

The front of the medallion features a handshake between the two leaders and the national flags of both countries.

The back of the medallion features a peace dove “which embodies the significance of the summit to bring about world peace”, said the Singapore Mint.

Customers can pre-order the medallions at the Singapore Mint retail outlets and its e-store, with prices ranging from SGD1,380 (about USD1,034) to SGD36 (about USD27).

The White House last month unveiled its own commemorative coin for the summit, which will be available for purchase online via the White House gift shop website.

The US – DPRK summit will take place on June 12th in Singapore at 09h00.

Singapore’s Foreign Ministry confirmed on May 10th that it would host the historic meeting between US President Donald Trump and DPRK’s leader Kim Jong-un.

"We hope this meeting will advance prospects for peace on the Korean Peninsula," Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

"The highly anticipated meeting between Kim Jong-un and myself will take place in Singapore on June 12th," Mr Trump tweeted.

"We will both try to make it a very special moment for World Peace!"./.
