US President to welcome French President in late April

US President Donald Trump will welcome his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron when he visits the White House in late April, a senior administration official said on January 23rd.

Mr Macron's visit will also include Mr Trump and First Lady Melania Trump's first state dinner.
Mr. Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron have developed a friendly relationship over the past year despite key differences on policy, including the US withdrawal from the Paris climate accord in June.
The two leaders first met on the sidelines of NATO Summit in Brussels on May 25th, 2017. Mr. Donald Trump and Emmanuel Macron then met at the G20 Summit in the German city of Hamburg on July 7th - 8th, 2017.
Their latest met was on the anniversary of French National Day when US President Donald Trump was in Paris for an official visit./.
