Final session of 14th NA focuses on personnel work

The 11th and final session of the 14th National Assembly (NA) is expected to complete filling State positions, including the election of the State President, Prime Minister and the Chairperson of the NA.

It is expected that the session will last from March 24 to April 8 or 9, with a majority of time spent on personnel work.

The NA will comment on the work of the 14th National Assembly; the 2016-2021 term of the State President, Government, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, and the State Audit.

Personnel work is expected to be conducted from March 30. Accordingly, the National Assembly will proceed with releasing State President Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and Chairwoman of the NA Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; and elect replacement personnel to these positions by secret ballot.

The new State President, Prime Minister, and Chairperson of the NA will be sworn in after being elected by the NA.

The NA will also elect leaders of State agencies, including Vice President, some NA Vice Chairpersons and Chairpersons of the NA Committees, State Auditor General, NA Secretary General, some Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and other members of the Government.

In addition, the National Assembly will elect a new Chairperson of the National Election Council, a number of members of the National Election Council, as well as the Vice President and some members of the National Defense and Security Council.

According to the NA Secretary General Nguyen Hanh Phuc, the Office of the NA coordinates with the Ministry of Health to develop plans on preventing COVID-19 and serving the operation of the NA session./.
