28 ethnic festivals in Dak Nong restored

Over the past years, the Central Highlands Dak Nong provincial cultural sector has restored 28 traditional festivals of three ethnic minority groups on the basis of origin, contributing to the preservation of traditional folk culture.

The sector also purchased 165 sets of gongs, 384 costumes of M'nong and Ede people, 232 headwear belts, 189 sets of musical instruments and many other traditional musical instruments; built two sets of materials on gong teaching of three ethnic groups M'nong, Ma and Ede ethnic minority groups in the province.

It investigated and collected folk songs of the M'nong people, made a set of CDs recording 80 high quality M'nong folk songs and one DVD on folk music of ethnic groups of M'nong, Ma and Ede; published a book on Vietnamese - M'nong proverbs; collected 30 worshipping songs (prayers to the gods) in the agricultural rituals of the M'nong people; shot films to make scientific and artistic profiles on M’nong epic M'nong singing; edited and published two photo books on outstanding local artisans.

Especially, implementing the project on collecting, preserving and promoting the value of historical and cultural artifacts of Dak Nong province to 2015 and orientations to 2020, the sector has collected over 3,000 artifacts in the fields of history, national culture and archeology./.
