The event was opened by the Danish Ambassador to Vietnam, H.E. Mr. Nicolai Prytz and the Director of Kim Dong Publishing House, Mr. Bui Tuan Nghia, with participation of many children from various schools in Hanoi. The event was followed by two training seminars on the current trends in Danish picture books to promote exchange of knowledge and experience between the Danish and Vietnamese illustrators and writers.

At the opening of the event, H.E. Mr. Nicolai Prytz, Ambassador of Denmark in Vietnam said "We highly treasure the long term cooperation between the Danish embassy and Kim Dong Publishing House in improving children’s literature in Vietnam. The event today highlights both the success and the sustainability of our cooperation, as it continues to thrive several years after the official development cooperation programme ended in 2015. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Ms. Tove K. Lange for her generosity and kindness to provide us the opportunity to present her set of drawings and stories to Vietnamese children and friends. I hope that these beautiful paintings and entertaining stories will attract not only Vietnamese children but also adults and guide them through various fairy tales that most of us know by heart since our childhood."

Mr. Bui Tuan Nghia, Director of Kim Dong Publishing House also added "We are grateful for the long term co-operation with the Danish Embassy and the Danish Association of Writers and Illustrators. Many Vietnamese writers and illustrators find the experience and knowledge gained during the past years from working with Danish artists both directly and through workshops very helpful and valuable. Kim Dong Publishing House has also received a lot of attention and high interests from local authors for the training workshops this time with the Danish expert, Ms. Tove K. Lange. This shows genuine need of Vietnamese authors in improving their writing and illustrating skills and capacity."

"A Journey to the Fairy Tale World" is a set of lovely drawings and enticing stories on some of the most well-known fairy tales, which lead audiences to travel from one fairy tale to another. The event is part of a comprehensive cultural and public diplomacy programme undertaken by the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Denmark./.
