Children can take part in diverse activities to explore ethnic culture during the programme entitled “I love my village” at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Dong Mo Tourism Area, Son Tay Town, Hanoi throughout August.

Children can take part in a painting contest on the beauty of Vietnam’s rural areas, taste signature dishes, and try their hands at making traditional musical instruments, making wine, or picking tea leaves.

In addition, exciting folk games of Vietnamese ethnic groups, such as 'pao' (cloth ball) throwing, playing 'yen' (badminton) of the H’Mong people, ‘to ma le’ (throwing seeds of 'ma le' fruit) of the Thai people, stilt walking, bamboo pole dancing, and tug of war are also held.

The programme is drawing the participation of more than 100 people from 13 ethnic groups, and 20 Co Tu ethnic people from Thua Thien Hue province.

The Co Tu ethnic participants will stage a cultural day on August 20 and 21, introducing visitors to their traditional ‘tung tung ya ya’ dance, traditional musical performances, and brocade weaving craft.

Notably, the A Rieu A Za, which is a traditional festival to welcome new rice season of Co Thu people in Nam Dong District, Thua Thien Hue Province, will be reproduced on the occasion./.
