Hanoi attracts 235 FDI projects in 4 months

Despite the complex development of COVID-19, in the first 4 months of this year, Hanoi saw positive changes in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI).

In particular, the city attracted over USD981 million in FDI, including 235 new projects with a registered capital of USD324 million; and 53 projects with USD365 million in capital increase. 

In April alone, 50 FDI projects worth USD53 million were licensed, including 40 projects of 100% FDI capital and 10 joint - venture projects. 

In domestic investment attraction, Hanoi decided the investment of 4 non-budget projects with VND5.13 trillion. Meanwhile, the city granted certificates of establishment for 7,165 businesses with a registered capital of VND110.197 trillion, a year-on-year decrease of 12% in terms of the number of businesses and a year-on-year increase of 50% in terms of registered capital, bringing the total number of businesses in the city to 286,096.

In order to increase the efficiency of FDI attraction, it will increase support for businesses, from registration to project implementation, helping businesses to overcome difficulties in project implementation and creating a healthy and fair investment environment./.
