In the eight months, the whole country had 81,600 enterprises registered for new establishment, with a total capital of more than 1.1 quadrillion VND. The average registered capital on each enterprise was 13.9 billion VND, a year-on-year increase of 0.5%.
Regarding more than 1.5 quadrillion VND of increased capital from some 30,100 enterprises, the total capital added to the economy during the period was more than 2.6 quadrillion VND, a year-on-year decrease of 17%.
In addition, 32,400 enterprises resumed operation, down 0.6%, bringing the total number of newly-established enterprises and enterprises resuming operation to 114,000. On average, each month saw 14,300 enterprises established or returning to operation.
During the period, some 85,500 enterprises left the market. Among them, 43,200 enterprises temporarily suspended operations for a definite period, a year-on-year increase of 29.5%, while 30,100 enterprises stopped operation pending dissolution procedures, up 24.5%, and 12,200 completed dissolution procedures, up 17.8%.
In August alone, the number of newly-established enterprises was 5,761 with registered capital totalling 68 trillion VND, down 34.1% in number of businesses and 44.6% in capital from the previous month.
Meanwhile, 3,865 firms resumed operation, down 21.9% from July, and 6,441 left the market, down 34.9%./.
