(CPV) - According to the Hanoi Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, despite many difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, in the first 6 months of 2021, the whole city created jobs for nearly 100,000 workers, reaching more than 60% of the whole year's plan, an increase of more than 20% over the same period last year.

This result was brought about the fact that the city's authorities had always created favourable conditions for workers to access preferential loans to create jobs for themselves. The total amount of money the city lent to create jobs in the first 6 months of the year was VND1.282 trillion.

In addition, Hanoi provided multi-dimensional information on the labour market, and organized more than 111 face-to-face, mobile and online work fairs, helping workers easily access the labour market.

From now until the end of 2021, the whole city strives to create at least 160,000 jobs; and lower the unemployment rate to less than 4% in urban areas and to less than 3% in general./.
