(CPV) - During the Mid-Autumn Festival 2021, 1,000 gifts were presented to children in special and difficult circumstances in ethnic minority-inhabited areas in Hanoi.

According to the information from Hanoi’s Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, on the Mid-Autumn Festival this year, instead of organizing the "Full Moon Festival" as usual, the Hanoi Municipal People's Committee authorized the Department to distribute 1,000 gifts to children in special circumstances, children from poor and near-poor households, children in ethnic minority and mountainous areas who have made great efforts in studying and in life, and children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in 30 districts of the city.
Each gift includes 500,000 VND in cash and confectionery, with a total worth of 580 million VND; in which, 500 million VND is from the city's budget, 80 million VND is from the mobilization of the city's Children's Protection Fund.
The gifts were given to the children by the Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the People's Committees of the wards, communes and townships.
In addition, from September 15 to 19, 2021, Hanoi’s Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs also presented 531 gifts to children in special circumstances in 4 districts of Ha Dong, Chuong My, Phu Xuyen and My Duc, and children in special circumstances are being raised at 8 child care and nurturing centers under the Department with a total budget of 398.6 million VND from the city's Children's Protection Fund./.
