During the reception, Mr. Thanh shared an overview of the development situation of the capital, in which he emphasized the immediate and important task of urgently constructing the Belt Road 4, expected to be completed in 2027 or 2028, to open up space for socio-economic development.

Appreciating Samsung's contributions to Vietnam as a major investor, he expected Samsung to coordinate with departments and sectors to update information, thereby having orientations and plans in line with the green development orientation, with priority given to Hanoi’s high-tech industries.

General Director of Samsung Vietnam Complex Choi Joo Ho shared an overview of the development situation of Samsung in Vietnam, emphasizing that the group has reported USD18.2 billion accumulated investment capital, 6 production complexes, 1 research and development center, and 110,000 officers and employees throughout Vietnam.

In 2021, Samsung’s export turnover reached USD65.5 billion, accounting for 20% of Vietnam's total export turnover. In 2022, despite many difficulties, Samsung's export turnover as of August reached USD46 billion USD, up 12% over the same period last year, aiming to complete the target of USD68 billion for the whole year.

According to Mr. Choi Joo Ho, in the coming time, Samsung will expand more in the field of research and development, in which the new research and development center plays an important role. Up to now, the construction of this project has gone very smoothly. As much as 90% of the work is completed without any risks, and it can be inaugurated as planned by the end of this year.

Being put into operation, the center will not only continue to research software, hardware, network connectivity or mobile phones testing, but also focus on research areas serving industry and the fourth Industrial Revolution, such as artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), including the training of Vietnamese engineers.

He expressed his hope that Hanoi would promote solving a number of problems, such as ensuring a stable power supply for the center in the long run to meet the stable operation; and create favorable conditions to complete the necessary procedures so that the center can be inaugurated and put into operation on schedule.

Saying that the Korean Government and Samsung Group are actively attracting Korean supporters in organizing the 2030 World Expo in Busan (RoK), Mr. Choi Joo Ho said he hoped that Hanoi would support and attend this great event./.
