(CPV) - Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh has signed and issued decisions on supporting 18 southern provinces and cities with additional funding for COVID-19 prevention and control.

According to the signed decisions, Hanoi will spend 54 billion VND supporting 18 southern provinces and cities that are facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 epidemic, including: Tien Giang, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Can Tho, Dong Nai, Tra Vinh, Kien Giang, Ca Mau, Tay Ninh, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, An Giang, Hau Giang, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Vinh Long and Long An. Each locality will receive supportive money of 3 billion VND.
The funding is deducted from the city-level budget reserve in 2021.
Currently, Hanoi is still in the period of social distancing to control the COVID-19 epidemic, with many difficulties and challenges.
However, in the spirit of “Hanoi for the whole country”, the capital still spends resources to support localities, contributing to early prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic across the country./.
