Operation of Ho Chi Minh City’s temporary street markets, illegal selling sites tightened

The Thu Duc city People’s Committees, districts, wholesale markets, traditional markets, supermarkets, convenience stores, businesses have been asked to provide market stability, stores selling foods and essential goods across the city to strictly comply with the Directive No.10 on enhancement of COVID-19 prevention and control issued by the municipal People's Committee.

The information was released by Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Trade and Industry.

Thu Duc City and districts have to assign the management boards of markets to strengthen preventive measures and the implementation of the health ministry's 5K message, including facemask, disinfection, social distancing, no gathering and health declaration.

Fines shall be imposed on violations of the city's COVID-19 rules and suspension of temporary street markets, such as mass gatherings, illegal pavement trading.

In addition, wholesale markets are encouraged to install automatic infrared body temperature thermal scanners to monitor workers from remote locations, inspection camera system, and record daily journal for COVID-19 contact tracing service.

Moreover, markets must regularly check the safety and preventive measures, as well as tight control of entrance and exit.

Businesses are asked to ensure adequate supply of goods, the quality and safety of products, increase the number of selling sites, and stabilize the market price./.
