Accordingly, District People's Committees and Thu Duc City People’s Committee are requested to take care of workers, students, and freelancers living in hostels, worker accommodation areas, and poor labor areas, so that they feel safe to stay in their places of residence while the city is implementing social distancing.

The assistance will be carried out in August and September. The city also suggested that localities organize early COVID-19 vaccination for these groups of people, in an attempt to reach vaccination coverage of 70% by September 15.

On the same day, Ho Chi Minh City held a launching ceremony "Promoting the strength of the entire population to participate in the prevention and control of COVID-19" and launched the City's Social Welfare Center, which aims to focus on sharing and supporting people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, not letting workers who lose their jobs fall into extreme difficulties; especially difficult cases such as people selling lottery tickets, motorbike taxi drivers, and street sellers.

Previously, from August 5 - 10, the City Fatherland Front also deployed the second social welfare package with more than VND900 billion disbursed, to provide timely support for disadvantaged people during social distancing./.
