Vietnam desires to promote cooperation with Italy in tourism promotion, cultural exchange, heritage preservation and sports.

This is the opinion of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, expressed at a meeting with Ms. Donari Bainchi, Italian Minister of State of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, in Ho Chi Minh city on September 7th.
With thanks to Italy for effectively supporting Vietnam in restoring and embellishing the My Son Sanctuary world cultural heritage, Minister Thien asked Italy to continue supporting Vietnam to protect, restore and embellish cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO.
He affirmed that Vietnam is ready to cooperate with Italy to carry out exchange programs on experience, art performance, music and sports. At the same time, he also expressed his desire to cooperate with Italy to expand tourism promotion programs, creating favorable conditions to increase the number of tourists travelling between the two countries.
Ms. Donari Bainchi pledged to step up the cooperation in training of experts, and send experts to Vietnam to directly restore and embellish historical and cultural relics of the country.
In addition, Italy is willing to organize sports programs, such as sports camps for Vietnamese youths to attend short football training courses.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed to intensify the coordination to successfully organize the Vietnam Tourism Promotion Program to be held in Italy in October, and the Italy Culture Week in Asia to be held in Vietnam in November./.
