Ho Chi Minh City donates kindergarten project to Lao village

Previously, during a visit to Vientiane in July 2022, the delegation donated USD18,000 to support the Lao Front for National Construction in Vientiane to build the Dongbong Village Kindergarten. The project has now been completed and is ready for use in the new school year.

At the handover ceremony, Sompaseuth Siharath, Deputy Chairman of the Lao Front for National Construction in Vientiane, shared that the school now has three classrooms, six teachers and 70 students. The new facility will significantly improve teaching and learning conditions, providing a cleaner, safer and more comfortable environment for both teachers and students.

Deputy Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Thuy described the project as a symbol of great solidarity, highlighting the collaborative efforts between the Vietnamese and Lao fronts, specifically between Ho Chi Minh City and Vientiane. She emphasized that the project contributes to creating an optimal educational environment for teachers and students alike.

She expressed her confidence that the school’s administration and teachers would continue to provide the best education for the students, who represent the future of Laos. She also hoped for more collaborative Vietnam-Laos projects in the future to further improve the educational infrastructure in Vientiane and enhance the quality of learning for disadvantaged students.

On the same day, the delegation also visited the Nguyen Du Laos-Vietnam Bilingual School to congratulate the school’s leadership and teachers on Lao Teacher's Day (October 7). During the visit, they donated USD27,500 to support Vietnamese language teachers in Laos in 2024./.
