Vietnam receives emergency aid from Singaporean Government

On September 19, at Noi Bai Airport, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development received emergency aid from the Singapore Government to support people affected by Typhoon Yagi.

The emergency aid handover ceremony took place at the ALS terminal of Noi Bai Airport.

Representing the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam were Mr. Pham Ngoc Mau, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department, and Mr. Nguyen Van Tien, Deputy Director of the Department of Dike Management and Disaster Prevention and Control.

Representing the Singapore Government were Mr. Jaya Ratnam, Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam; Colonel Fredie Tan, Director of the Changi Regional Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Coordination Centre (RHCC); and Colonel Low Teck Loong, Singapore’s Defense Attaché to Vietnam.

The aid package included water filtration pumps, bottled water, personal hygiene kits, survival blankets, water containers and food rations.

The shipment arrived at Noi Bai International Airport at 12:00 PM on September 19 on flight SINGA 8482 from Changi Airport. The aid was delivered to Bac Kan province on September 20./.
