Korean citizen awarded Medal of Honor for contributions to sending Vietnamese workers to RoK

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan expressed his appreciation and gratitude for Ms. Kim Yoon Hye's important contributions to the development and cooperation in the field of sending Vietnamese workers to work in the Republic of Korea (RoK) in her position as a Labor and Employment Attaché from March 2022 to present.

Accordingly, Ms. Kim Yoon Hye has actively promoted the negotiation and signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Vietnam’s Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) and RoK’s Ministry of Employment and Labor on sending and receiving Vietnamese workers to work in RoK under the Employment Permit System for Foreign Workers of RoK (EPS), thereby contributing to sending over 10,000 Vietnamese workers to RoK in 2023 under the EPS program, the highest in the past 10 years.

She also regularly exchanges and coordinates with Vietnamese agencies to remove difficulties and obstacles in recruiting Vietnamese workers to work in RoK in the field of shipbuilding, contributing to sending 1,600 workers to work in the sector with good working conditions and high incomes.

In addition, Ms. Kim Yoon Hye has contributed to promoting cooperation activities on seasonal labor between localities of Vietnam and RoK. So far, 16 provinces and cities of Vietnam have signed agreements with RoK’s localities, of which 12 provinces and cities have sent nearly 3,000 workers to RoK.

She expressed her appreciation for receiving the Medal of Honor of the MOLISA. She affirmed that although her term of office in Vietnam has ended, she will continue to contribute more to promoting the friendship and cooperation between the people of the two countries as well as to the overall development of the RoK - Vietnam relationship./.
