Football tournament of overseas Vietnamese in UK

A football tournament of the Vietnamese community in the United Kingdom (UK) was held in late July in London, attracted the participation and enthusiastic cheers.

This is the first tournament hosted by the Overseas Vietnamese Association in the UK (VAUK) with support of the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK and North Ireland, representative office of Vietnam Airlines and many businesses, entrepreneurs and restaurants of Vietnamese people in the country.
Mr. Luong Son Thanh, Chairman of VAUK, said that the tournament would be organized annually to strengthen cohesion of overseas Vietnamese people across the UK.
“We want to create a new playground for the Vietnamese youth in the UK," he said.
Along with the cuisine - cultural exchange program held every three months, the football tournament is expected to help the Vietnamese community in the UK be more cohesive and together toward their homeland and roots.
This is a new direction of the VAUK in an effort to diversify activities to attract the participation of large number of Vietnamese people in the country./.
