Final round of football tournament 2023 held for Vietnamese community in Japan

The final round of the football tournament “FAVIJA KANSAI CUP 2023” took place at Redsland Stadium in Japan’s Saitama province on December 10.

This is a meaningful sports exchange activity in a series of programs celebrating the 50th anniversary of Vietnam – Japan diplomatic relations.

The tournament is organized by the Vietnam-Japan International Exchange Organization (FAVIJA) and sponsored by the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, for Vietnamese people living, working and studying in Japan as well as Japanese friends.

The final round has the participation of the 32 highest-ranked amateur teams after qualifying tournaments held in seven regions across Japan, lasting from February to the end of November in 2023.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the final round, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu emphasized that in the year commemorating the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan relations, more than 500 meaningful events are held in both countries, especially in Japan.

Among them, cultural and sports exchange activities also took place enthusiastically in all 47 localities of Japan. Organizing football exchange activities contributes to strengthening cohesion not only within the Vietnamese community in Japan, but also between Vietnamese people and Japanese friends.

At the end of the tournament, the championship belonged to FC Nishio Asia Zone Car club, the runner-up belonged to FC Sun Shine club.

In addition to in-kind rewards, the championship team also had the honor of receiving a ball signed by President Vo Van Thuong./.
