Football tournament launched for overseas Vietnamese in Russia

The Vietnamese community in Russia has launched a football tournament at Kapotnhia Arena Stadium in Moscow on June 20 to mark the 100th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's arrival in Peterograd (now St-Peterburg) (June 30, 1923 - June 30, 2023).

The tournament attracted the participation of 15 teams.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, Minister Counselor Le Quang Anh of the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia said that it is the largest, well-prepared sporting event among the Vietnamese community in Russia.
The tournament strengthens the solidarity among overseas Vietnamese in Russia and promoting the Vietnam-Russia traditional friendship.
Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Russia Do Xuan Hoang said that the tournament shows the optimism and confidence of overseas Vietnamese in Russia. He express his hope that it will continue to be held in the following years, creating a healthy playground for overseas Vietnamese in Russia./.
