The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan on July 6 held a ceremony to receive donations for Vietnam’s COVID-19 vaccine fund.

Nearly 30 Japanese trade unions and companies which are accepting Vietnamese interns, and Vietnamese organizations and individuals working in Japan, participated in the event. At the end of the ceremony, individuals, organizations and businesses pledged to support more than 6 million JPY (nearly 1.3 billion VND).
At the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Vu Hong Nam thanked Japanese trade unions, companies and Vietnamese organizations and individuals working in Japan for donating for Vietnam’s COVID-19 vaccine fund. He expressed his belief that the valuable support will give more strength to the Vietnamese people to soon overcome the pandemic. On this occasion, the ambassador also thanked Japanese unions and companies for their support to Vietnamese interns during the pandemic period, even though they are still facing many difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Representatives of trade unions and companies that are accepting Vietnamese interns all expressed their support for Vietnam's fight against COVID-19 and wished that the donation would be effectively used for the vaccination program against COVID-19. Besides, they also hope that Vietnam and Japan will soon overcome the pandemic and that travel between the two countries will soon be restored to continue welcoming Vietnamese trainees to Japan to work.
Mr. Mikio Kesagayama, President of the Tokyo Business Information Consultancy Corporation (TICC) expressed his pleasure at participating in supporting the COVID-19 vaccine fund of Vietnam. He hopes to be able to contribute to help Vietnam soon have enough vaccines to vaccinate people, including interns waiting to enter Japan.
On June 13, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan held an event to call donations for Vietnam's COVID-19 vaccine fund.
