The full moon festival included an art performance, a contest to draw on hand-made bags, which will be used at the upcoming charity fair, creating glad and united atmosphere, thus helping Vietnamese citizens overcome difficulties during the time they stay at the community support centre to await repatriation flights.
Apart from the festival, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and the association have carried out various activities at the centre like providing transportation services to airports and calling for food donations from Japanese localities.
At present, 58 Vietnamese citizens are staying at the centre, which was transformed from the dormitory of the Meiyuu Japanese language school, about 40km from Tokyo.
The centre, which was put into operation in August, is a significant program organized by the Vietnamese Embassy, the Vietnamese Buddhist Association in Japan and the Kyodai charity group, to provide free services for Vietnamese citizens who are stranded or meet difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic./.
