Overseas Vietnamese in Laos organize badminton tournament to mark National Day

A national badminton tournament for Vietnamese people in Laos opened in Vientiane on August 26 on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of Vietnam’s August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

The tournament, which was held by the General Association of Overseas Vietnamese in Laos, attracted the participation of overseas Vietnamese living and working in the host country.
Chairman of the General Association of Overseas Vietnamese in Laos Pham Van Hung said that this is the first time the national badminton tournament has been organized by the general association in order to offer an opportunity for overseas Vietnamese in Laos to meet and exchange, thereby helping to tighten solidarity and improve the position of the Vietnamese community in Laos.
At the same time, the tournament is also expected to create a movement for them to do exercise, helping them have good health, he said.
The General Association of Overseas Vietnamese in Laos plans to organize this tournament every year, because this will not only help create a healthy playground, but also help strengthen the solidarity among the Vietnamese community in the country./.
