Overseas Vietnamese in US organize Homeland Spring Program

The Homeland Spring (Xuan Que Huong) Program was held by the Vietnamese Embassy in the US on January 6 (US time) in Washington D.C. to celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year of the Cat.

The program, organized after three years of being suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, attracted nearly 600 people to participate, including US and international friends loving Vietnam.

Delivering New Year greetings via video, Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung wished the Vietnamese community and US friends a New Year of health, success and happiness.

The Ambassador emphasized that Vietnam became the seventh largest trade partner of the US for the first time in 2022, with two-way trade estimated at about 135 billion USD, up 18% annually.

Vietnam is also the fifth biggest source of students in the US, showing that ties between the two countries have become increasingly solid and bright, he added.

On this occasion, Ambassador Dung wished that the Vietnamese community in the US would grow stronger and stronger, actively contribute to the development of Vietnam-US relations, and join hands to support the cause of national construction and protection.

At the event, overseas Vietnamese and guests enjoyed special musical programs and traditional Vietnamese dishes on Tet holidays./.
