Vietnam awards State President's Friendship Medal to Chairman of AstraZeneca Vietnam

This noble award was announced and awarded by Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Nguyen Hoang Long at a ceremony attended by a large number of guests and the Vietnamese community living, studying and working in the UK, in the cheerful and exciting atmosphere of the Vietnam - UK Friendship Year 2023.

The award is recognition of Mr. Kapoor's role in contributing to the efforts of the Government of Vietnam during the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as in the journey to improve people's health care.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Long praised Mr. Kapoor's tireless contributions and expertise that have contributed to significantly promoting health growth and sustainable development in Vietnam since he undertook the leadership at AstraZeneca Vietnam in 2018.

The Ambassador highly appreciated Mr. Kapoor's strong commitment in the areas of medical innovation, enhancing the sustainability and resilience of the health system, as well as his active initiative in response to climate change.

For his part, Mr. Kapoor expressed his deep gratitude to the Government of Vietnam, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all partners who have supported the company in recent times. He said that he would dedicate this award to all his domestic and international colleagues who are working tirelessly to promote scientific advances to bring possible healthcare solutions to change life.

The awarding of this Friendship Medal once again clearly depicts Mr. Nitin Kapoor's dedication in efforts to improve healthcare and sustainable development in Vietnam; following the awards he has received in the past, such as the Medal for the Young Generation, which honors his positive impact on youth health and the Vietnam Excellence Award - honoring his excellent leadership role.

This is also a recognition of AstraZeneca's contributions to vaccine diplomacy, cancer prevention and treatment, response to the COVID-19 pandemic and patient support, which have been recognized and awarded by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health. The fact that the company continuously receives many awards from the international business community and is continuously honored as one of the 100 best places to work in Vietnam is a clear testament to the company's excellent commitment in the field of medicine and health care./.
