Vietnam-Bangladesh relations continue to be firmly consolidated

Vietnamese Ambassador to Bangladesh Nguyen Manh Cuong on January 9 congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the occasion of the Government of the country successfully organizing the general election on January 7 and the Awami League (AL) Party led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina winning with leading results.

At the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Manh Cuong believed that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Government of Bangladesh will continue to make many great achievements in socio-economic development, ensuring a prosperous and happy life for the people.

Recalling the similarities in the history of the struggle for national liberation between the two countries, the Ambassador affirmed that the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Bangladesh are increasingly developing well, especially in the field of economy and trade.

To create new momentum for cooperation in the coming time, the Ambassador hopes that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will support and create favorable conditions in opening direct flights, contributing to promoting trade and tourism activities, people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina agreed and believed that the friendship between Vietnam and Bangladesh, while experiencing ups and downs of history, will continue to be firmly consolidated, bringing many practical benefits to the people of the two countries.

Bangladesh's 12th National Parliament General Election took place on January 7. The Bangladesh Election Committee said that the AL Party won with 222 out of 298 seats./.
