Vietnam holds first coffee making competition in Kuwait

The contest aims to further promote the image of Vietnamese coffee beans as well as the Coffilia coffee brand in Kuwait.

Taking place on the morning of October 27 at His Majesty the Coffee, the contest had the participation of 10 contestants. Using Coffilia coffee beans from Vietnam as an ingredient, contestants were divided into groups to perform their tests in two categories - making espresso coffee and making artistic latte coffee.

Attending and scoring the contestants were Mr. Nguyen Minh Thang and Mr. Vu Thanh Hung, representatives of Coffilia coffee company, and Kuwaiti guest Saleh Al Shahabb.

At the end of the competition, the guests together chose two winners in each category, Mr. Nicandro Magalso Jr. and Mr. Jerald John. The winners were awarded Coffilia products and discount coupons when they visited the newly opened Coffilia coffee shop in Kuwait.

The event marked the first time a professional coffee competition was organized by Vietnam in the Gulf country. Visitors to the competition had the opportunity to exchange in-depth knowledge about coffee beans, roasting and brewing techniques from different countries and regions, as well as to experience Vietnamese coffee being researched and developed by Coffilia.

Speaking at the end of the competition, Mr. Nguyen Minh Thang, General Director of Coffilia Coffee Company, praised the contestants for their performance, and expressed his hope that the event would help local people understand more about Coffilia coffee beans, as well as exchange knowledge about coffee making.

On October 24, the first Coffilia coffee shop in Kuwait, also the first Vietnamese brand coffee shop in this Gulf country, was officially opened at Al-Kout Hotel in Fahaheel district of Ahmadi province./.
