Vietnamese Ambassador to France receives Ai-Lao Overseas Vietnamese Friendship Association in France

Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang received and had discussions with the leadership of the Ai-Lao Overseas Vietnamese Friendship Association in France (AVLF), led by Mr. Thao Ledarath (Le The Hung), President of the association.

At the meeting, Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang welcomed and highly appreciated the AVLF’s activities over the past time, especially the practical contributions to the homeland in charity activities and support for AO/dioxin victims, and recent support for the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam.

On the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year, the Ambassador sent greetings to the members of the association, wished them to stabilize their lives, unite to overcome the difficult times caused by COVID-19 pandemic and prepare to welcome the joyfully and cozy traditional Tet.

AVLF leaders said that over the past time, COVID-19 has greatly affected the association's activities as well as its members’ lives, but the association has still tried to maintain the cohesion of its members, encourage and support each other to overcome difficulties, and always pay attention to the situation in the homeland.

At the meeting, AVLF presented 5,000 EUR, which was donated by its members in response to the call of the Vietnamese Embassy in France to join hands with other Vietnamese associations in France to support the homeland to fight against the pandemic.

AVLF, established in 1984, is an association of overseas Vietnamese from Laos to settle in France, gathering about 200 members living mainly in Paris and surrounding areas. The purpose of the association is to help each other in life, preserve the national cultural identity, and strengthen relations with French friends./.
