Vietnamese doctor in US donates 3,000 3M-N95 masks to support medical workers in homeland

The Consulate General of Vietnam in the US city of Houston, Texas, recently received 3,000 3M-N95 masks donated by Doctor Vu Minh Duc, who is working at Memorial Hermann Hospital, to present to domestic medical staff who are on the front lines of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

A graduate of Hanoi Medical University who used to work at Bach Mai Hospital, then went to work in the US and participated in treating COVID-19 patients for more than 1 year, amid the complicated development of the pandemic in Vietnam, along with the practical gift of 3,000 masks to his domestic colleagues, Doctor Vu Minh Duc also promptly exchanged experiences with doctors at a number of hospitals in Hanoi, who are sent to support Ho Chi Minh City to fight the pandemic.

In addition, Silicon Specialist LLC Company, operating in the field of semiconductor technology in Hayward city, through the Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston, presented 1,250 boxes of medical supplies equivalent to 2.2 tons, including masks for ventilators, breathing tubes, tracheostomy masks, cannulas that deliver oxygen through the nose, medical protective suits and specialized masks to support the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control effort.

Speaking when receiving the gifts, Consul General Nguyen Trac Ba highly appreciated the noble gesture of intellectuals, businessmen and the Vietnamese community in the US. The Consulate General has urgently coordinated with the authorities to soon receive and transport these gifts to Vietnam, contributing timely support for medical staff at the frontline and people in areas heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic./.
