The tournament attracts the participation of 76 teams, including non-professional Vietnamese and Japanese players studying, working and living in the Kanto region of Japan. Its qualifying rounds took place from March 17.

The 40 teams selected for the final round were divided into 10 groups, competing at the same time on 8 fields within the Redsland Stadium campus in Saitama City.

The tournament helps young overseas Vietnamese exercise, meet and exchange with each other. In addition, it is also an opportunity to further strengthen emotions and relationships between overseas Vietnamese and the local people.

FAVIJA Chairman Do Quang Ba said that through the football tournament, the organizing committee has popularized the laws of the host country to young overseas Vietnamese, calling for donations to charity funds to help disadvantaged overseas Vietnamese.

The championship team donated the entire 30,000 JPY-prize to the fund to build a Vietnamese pagoda in Tokyo.

The winning teams also won the right to participate in the national Vietnamese football tournament in Japan which will take place in mid-November in Tokyo./.
