The event is co-organized by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training; Vietnam Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing Federation (VCRSF); Ninh Thuan provincial People’s Committee, KTA and Ninh Chu Sea Club.

Mr Nguyen Hai Duong, Vice head of the No. 2 high sports achievement Department cum VCRSF Secretary General, said that KTA X-Champs 2016 is a really good chance for Vietnam to enhance its development of marine sports (part of the International Sailing Federation) in Vietnam, as well as promote the beauty of the land and people of Ninh Thuan province.

Currently, kite boarding has become an official category in the Summer Youth Olympic Games set to take place in Buenos Aires in 2018, and is expected to compete in the 2020 Olympics (Tokyo, Japan).

With the advantages of its many long beaches, Vietnam is favoured for such sporting activity, in which Ninh Chu is known as one of the most beautiful bays.

VCRSF, through the tour, should check the Vietnamese athlete’s skills, then mobilize sources from social organizations in preparation for the upcoming international events like SEA Games, Asian Games and Asian Beach Games.

After Vietnam, riders will enter the second competition from March 15th-20th in Pranburi (Thailand), and the final competition in China on the island of Hainan from April 6th-10th./.
