Saigon Co.op prepares 90,000 tonnes of goods for Tet

(CPV) - The Saigon Commercial Cooperative Union (Saigon Co.op), increased essential goods by two-three folds and expanded distribution system throughout the country to meet people’s demand during the rest of the year and the Lunar New year 2015 (Tet holiday), it reported on December 16th.

The Saigon Co.op schedules to supply about 90,000 tonnes of goods for the three months before, during and after Tet holiday 2015, representing an increase of 15% from the previous Tet. Major commodities supplied during the period will be fresh food, dried food, garments and textiles, household goods and beverages.

The union will coordinate with some providers to offer 10-50% discount for thousands of products during the periods.

During the Tet holiday, the Saigon Co.op plans to organise at least 141 mobile sales locations in rural and remote areas, industrial and export processing zones in Ho Chi Minh city and other Coop Mart-based localities. Made-in-Vietnam essential consumption goods will be supplied for people with a reduction of 3-5% from retail prices in supermarkets.

Total commodities for the mobile sales locations, valued at VND30 billion, will be sold from January 29th to February 8th, 2015 (December 10th to 20th of the lunar year 2014)./.
