The move aims to ensure the balance of goods supply and demand, and stabilize the market and social security.

The program is implemented to encourage investment, diversify distribution networks, and ensure goods supply to consumers in suburban areas and industrial parks more conveniently.

Accordingly, groups of essential goods determined to balance supply and demand in the plan include: Food (rice, noodles, and dry pho), cattle meat, poultry, seafood, poultry eggs, processed foods, fresh vegetables and fruits, sugar, cooking oil, spices (fish sauce, dipping sauce, and soup powder), milk (liquid milk and powdered milk), confectionery, wine, beer, soft drinks and other essential goods for the prevention and control of natural disasters and epidemics.

The units participating in the program will be considered to support production and business establishments, borrow loans with preferential interest rates to prepare the source of goods; and will be given priority to bring goods to collective kitchens in schools, hospitals and sales points in the city.

Besides, the Hanoi People’s Committee also asked the units to promote the development of online sales; strengthen linkages between Hanoi and other provinces and cities to promote commodity exploitation, proactively prepare supply to serve people’s demand; add product groups to stabilize the market in association with the effective implementation of the campaign “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”.

In addition, the City People’s Committee will promote the application of information technology and technology 4.0 in quality management, food safety, and agricultural product consumption connection./.
