Rubber exports reach 2.17 billion USD in 9 months

(CPV) - Vietnam exported about 195,000 tons of rubber in September 2021, worth 321 million USD; up 2.8% in volume and 3.1% in value from the previous month, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Import and Export Agency.

The average export price was 1,646 USD a ton, up 0.3% compared to August 2021 and up 22.7% compared to September 2020. In the first 9 months of 2021, rubber exports are estimated at 1.3 million tons, worth 2.17 billion USD, up 17.1% in volume and 52.7% in value over the same period last year.

In September 2021, domestic price of raw rubber latex did not fluctuate much. In Binh Phuoc, purchase price of latex fluctuates at around 303-310 VND per TSC. In Dak Lak, the price was recorded at 16,000-18,000 VND a kg. In Binh Duong, raw rubber latex cost 323-325 VN per TSC.

Vietnam now ranks fifth in the world in terms of rubber area, accounting for about 5.6% of the total global area. Vietnam’s rubber output ranks third in the world, accounting for about 7.7% of the world's total natural rubber, after Thailand and Indonesia.

The country now has 238 rubber processing enterprises nationwide, with a capacity of nearly 1.2 million tons a year. Particularly, the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group has 44 factories, with a designed capacity of 433,000 tons a year, accounting for 36.1% of the country’s capacity./.
