This is a major cultural event aiming to promote the image, country and people of Vietnam to Japanese friends. The program attracted a large number of Japanese friends to attend.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong reviewed the magnanimous historical process of the nation and highlighted the most common characteristics of Vietnam: from a backward agricultural country with food shortages, Vietnam has become an important economy in the region, being the second largest rice exporter in the world and participating in many free trade agreements, including, together with Japan, participating in the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP).

The Ambassador hoped that through the cultural diplomatic event, Japanese friends would understand more about Vietnam, give more sentiment to Vietnam and strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.

In the framework of the program, the Japanese friends watched traditional dances and images introducing culture, country and people of Vietnam, and listened to Vietnamese songs in Japanese.

In particular, Japanese friends were introduced to the culinary culture of Vietnam and how to enjoy Vietnam’s dishes by the five senses of the body by Mrs. Hoang Thi Minh Ha, spouse of the Ambassador.

In an interview with the Vietnam News Agency reporter, Ms. Kahoru Odaka, who had travelled from Saitama Prefecture to the Vietnamese Embassy in Tokyo to attend the program though she has ever been in Vietnam, said that the cultural diplomatic activity was really significant and very interesting when listening to the Ambassador's spouse speaks about how to enjoy Vietnamese dishes by five senses of the body./.
