These goods have been shipped free by Vietnam Airlines to Frankfurt/Main with the intermediary connection of Dr. Kambiz Ghawami, Chairman of the World University Service (WUS) of Germany, as part of the return flight taking German people in Vietnam to home.
Mr. Burkhard Jung said that during the crisis, it realizes the importance of Leipzig's long-term international cooperation with partners around the world. He would like to express special thanks to 175 Military Hospital, Vietnam Airlines, as well as other partners for facilitating the delivery of these medical supplies to Leipzig.
He also emphasized that without the cooperation of the parties, including the policy support of Vietnam and Germany, the gift could not have been delivered due to Vietnam’s regulations on medical supplies export.
Meanwhile, Director of St. Georg Hospital Iris Minde also expressed pleasure with the gift from Vietnam, and said that the cooperation between the two hospitals over the years has been very successful and the two sides have set up Vietnam - Germany health centre to exchange experience in the profession.
Leipzig is a twinned city with Ho Chi Minh city. The two sides have developed close cooperation in many areas, and Leipzig is the only German city with a representative office in the Vietnam's Southern city./.
