Quang Ninh destroys transnational drug and weapon trafficking ring

The Quang Ninh Provincial Police and the Police Department for Investigation of Drug-related Crimes under the Ministry of Public Security and High Command of Vietnam Coast Guard razed a drug ring and seized 20 cakes of heroin, eight guns, 188 bullets, nearly VND2 billion and CNY50,000 in Viet Hung ward, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province on October 29th.

At that time, the authorities inspected a car with number plate of 14P-3926 driven by Nguyen Van Hai, born in 1976 and residing in Cam Phu ward, Cam Pha city, Quang Ninh province and seized 20 cakes of heroin, a k59 pistol, nine bullets and VND15 million.

Immediately afterward the officers searched Hai’s house and seized seven guns, 171 bullets, 1 package of synthetic drugs, a car and VND250 million.

Following the search the authorities arrested Hai’s accomplice, Hoang Vinh Phuc, born in 1965 and residing in Hai Yen ward, Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province and seized two packages of synthetic drugs, nearly VND1.4 billion and CNY50,000.

Results of initial investigation determined this is a professional transnational illegal drugs and weapon trafficking ring. The case in under further investigation./.
