Delegation from US Embassy in Vietnam visits Quang Ninh province

On November 3, Nguyen Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee received a delegation from the Embassy of the United States in Vietnam led by Greg D’ Alesandro, political officer, who was on a working visit to the province.

Introducing the province’s strength and potential, the provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman stressed that the province had been known as a Vietnam in miniature. To exploit its advantages, Quang Ninh province has focused on attracting foreign investment by making breakthroughs in improving infrastructure, administrative reform and increasing the quality of human resources.

Noting the cooperative relations between Vietnam and the US over the past 20 years, especially the relationships between US partners and investors with the province, the provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman stressed that projects by US investors had made a considerable contribution to promoting local socio-economic development.

He also highlighted the projects of significance, including the Mong Duong II thermo-electric plant and the Cai Lan deep-water seaport.

He expressed his hope that through the visit, the US Embassy would continue to reinforce the bilateral relations between the two countries, which could facilitate Quang Ninh to promote cooperation with US states, partners and investors in the future.

For his part, Mr. Greg D’ Alesandro affirmed that he would leave specific on the US Government on further promoting the relations between the two sides./.
