The Quang Ninh Customs Department and the Quang Ninh police have arrested Nguyen Van Nen, 38, living in Hong Hai ward, Ha Long city for illegally transporting drugs across the border.
Nen confessed that he would be paid VND8 million to transport two nylon bags, each containing about 1,000 tablets of ecstasy from China into Vietnam for a stranger. The drugs have been hidden amongst a bundle of China’s cigarettes. Nen was arrested when going to hand the drugs over.
The case is under further investigation./.
