A delegation from Vietnam’s northern province of Quang Ninh led by Nguyen Van Doc, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council recently held talks on a cooperation exchange with leaders of Laos’ Hua Phan province.

During the talks, Nguyen Van Doc said he hoped that the friendship and cooperative relationship between the two provinces would be reinforced thanks to the implementation of development cooperation programs.
He gave a brief description on Quang Ninh’s socio-economic development, highlighting its breakthroughs in the development of infrastructure, human resources and administrative reform.
He confirmed that with its experience in socio-economic development, investment attraction and leadership ability the province would continue to share the experience with Hua Phan and give greater support to the province in training the high quality human resources and building infrastructure.
Hua Phan is one of two most disadvantaged provinces of Laos. Over the past years, the province has received great assistance from the Vietnamese Party, Government and localities. Of which, Quang Ninh province has assisted with VND15 billion in building the Hua Phan - Quang Ninh friendship park and supported the training of 15 Lao people each year. At present, Hua Phan province has 44 students at Ha Long University.
During the talks, Kham Hung Huong Vong Si, Secretary of the Hua Phan provincial Party Committee, gave thanks for the support of Quang Ninh province, pledging that the province would effectively use the support to boost socio-economic development.
He also suggested the two provinces continue to have more profound cooperation, especially in tourism development and forestry and agricultural production./.
