Ho Chi Minh City: Over VND240 billion raised to support northern provinces affected by Typhoon No. 3

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, as of 11:59 PM on September 29, the City Relief Campaign Committee had received over VND240 billion in donations to assist northern provinces impacted by the typhoon. Specifically, over VND12.4 billion was collected in cash, over VND213.6 billion and more than USD53,000 were transferred through bank accounts, and more than VND14.1 billion was transferred via the treasury account.

Regarding distribution, the City Relief Campaign Committee stated that Ho Chi Minh City has decided to allocate VND100 billion to 13 provinces, including VND10 billion to each of the provinces of Cao Bang, Lao Cai and Yen Bai; and VND7 billion to Hai Phong City and the provinces of Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, Hoa Binh, Lang Son, Bac Giang, Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang, Lai Chau and Phu Tho. Additionally, the city has transferred VND20 billion to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

In terms of goods, all donated items have been distributed to the following localities: Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Ha Giang, Hai Duong and Phu Tho.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized that these donations are not only financial support but also a source of encouragement and solidarity during difficult times. The distribution of funds will be transparent, ensuring that assistance is provided according to the actual needs of the localities and the people affected./.
