The Saigonchildren scholarship program removes barriers to education by providing comprehensive scholarship packages which include tuition assistance, books, rice, and uniforms for underprivileged students from primary school to university.

Saigonchildren takes a holistic approach, aiming to keep children in school for as long as possible through a network involving parents, teachers and community leaders.

Out of the 1,895 students who received scholarships during the 2023-2024 school year, 1,803 completed the full academic year, a 2% increase from the previous year. Specifically, 89 university or college students will graduate, ready to enter the workforce in fields such as medicine, business, information technology and education.

In addition to financial support, the program also focuses on enhancing soft skills and social knowledge for children. Over the past school year, 13 training classes on the topic of Internet safety were successfully organized. Additionally, approximately 737 students from all educational levels participated in events celebrating Tet, the Mid-Autumn Festival, camp activities and field trips.

Last school year, Saigonchildren also marked the first time it adjusted the value of its scholarship packages in several years, enabling the payment of more educational expenses and easing the financial burden on families. Some children with special needs and circumstances were provided with additional items like bicycles, calculators, glasses and hearing aids.

Currently, Saigonchildren is preparing 1,921 scholarships for all educational levels for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. In addition to continuing to support students in the Scholarship Program, Saigonchildren is expanding its efforts to assist more disadvantaged children.

To date, the Scholarship Program has achieved 28% of its target for K-12 students and 80% of its target for university or college students./.
